As part of our ongoing mission to connect people with the natural world around them, Audubon California is helping release a user-friendly set of guides to the Bay Area that will help outdoor enthusiasts become better acquainted with the area’s plants and animals.
The Laws Pocket Guides to the San Francisco Bay Area are being released through a partnership between Audubon California and Heyday Books.
The foldout guides were created by author and illustrator John Muir Laws, a longtime friend of Audubon California’s whose Laws Guide to the Sierra Nevada is already a must-have for nature explorers. The Laws Pocket Guides to the San Francisco Bay Area include four foldout guides that describe the plants and animals commonly found in four habitats:
- At the beach and on the bay
- Near creeks, rivers, and ponds
- On grassy hills and in fields
- Among the oaks and pines
The set of four guides is small enough to fit in your pocket, yet durable enough to weather abuse. They are waterproof and tearproof.
They’re the perfect companion for any outdoor trip in the spectacular Bay Area.
The Guides can be purchased at the Richardson Bay Audubon Center & Sanctuary in Tiburon, or at bookstores throughout the Bay Area.
You can also learn the more about the Guides, or purchase them online, through Heyday Books.
